 Shimla (English:/ˈʃɪmlə/; Hindi: [ˈʃɪmlaː] (About this soundlisten)), otherwise called Simla, is the capital and the biggest city of the Indian province of Himachal Pradesh. In 1864, Shimla was proclaimed as the mid year capital of British India. After autonomy, the city turned into the capital of Punjab and was later made the capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is the key business, social and instructive focus of the state. It was the capital city of British Burma (present-day Myanmar) from 1942 to 1945.[9]  Little villages were recorded preceding 1815 when British powers assumed responsibility for the zone. The climatic conditions pulled in the British to build up the city in the thick backwoods of the Himalayas. As the late spring capital, Shimla facilitated numerous significant political gatherings including the Simla Accord of 1914 and the Simla Conference of 1945.
